Hints:

You need to use a longer zipper than the opening of the purse and have the pull outside of the stitching area when you stitch.
After the zipper is stitched all down and your fabric is stitched at the zipper, you can slide the zipper open so that the zipper head is inside the sewing area.
Always pay attention to where the head of your zipper is and that your machine foot will not catch it.

Zippers for this project should never be metal :) also

After stitching the zipper placement, tape the zipper into place for stitching. Stitch the zipper  in place and then remove the tape.
Tape fold of fabric up to the zipper and stitch in place.  Remove tape

Tape is a wonderful accessory for your embroidery.  When you stitch, it makes a perforation making it easy to remove.  I have used regular scotch tape, masking tape and painters tape.

Another good tape is paper tape.  It's the same tape that dr's and hospitals use when you get bandaged or when they draw blood.  It is very inexpensive at the $ store and is located in just about any store that carries band-aids.  The paper tape allows you to stitch through it and will remove easily with no sticky residue.  Very handy!  Hope this tips helps, too!  Penny
